L'obra de Stefanie Herr provoca una sorpresa immediata a causa de la seva original proposta tècnica i d'hibridització de mitjans artístics, que la doten d'una gran força visual. No obstant, l'artista encara va més enllà elaborant un discurs on es qüestionen i subverteixen gèneres tradicionals de la nostra història de l'art com la naturalesa morta o el nu, per a proposar-nos una interessant reflexió crítica sobre la societat de consum i la mercantilització dels cossos.

La Escocesa’s Studio Public Call for Artists, 8th edition

La Escocesa, Visual Art Factory from Barcelona is now offering a studio for visual artists to develop his/her art work.

Vacant spaces and conditions

- 1 studio available since March 2014
- The workshop measuring 7x5 meters
- Monthly Price Workshop = 100 € (for selected individual projects) – 150 € (for selected collective projects)
- The workshop has a small dark room for photographic developing or store
- The residences are for two years maximum (renewable up to three years due to the developed project and the jury’s evaluation if necessary).

Mike Watt vs. Raymond Pettibon: The importance of the artwork in the contemporary musician releases


La Escocesa and Hangar are organizing an artist talk with the musician – artist Mike Watt (Minutemen, Firehose, Iggy Pop, Mike Watt...) during his short visit to Barcelona as part of his European tour. This well-known musician (and United States underground art activist) will show us his vision and experience related with the graphic art of his music releases and promotion of his projects, with a special consideration of his works with the visual artist Raymond Pettibon.
